MarineTraffic heads Stateside for CMA 2019

North America’s largest international shipping event takes place next month and a five-strong team from MarineTraffic will be there.

This year’s CMA conference will be the first that MarineTraffic has attended, as the team heads out to the US as part of a wider strategy to build greater exposure of what it can offer to the North American shipping industry.

Head of Sales, Vlassis Papapanagis, will be one of those in attendance, and is looking forward to the April event: “CMA consistently proves to be a great destination for the industry to come together and discuss important industry topics. 2019 is particularly important for MarineTraffic as we aim to build our profile in order to be much more visible in the US market.”

Key Account Manager, Ricky Nilsson, and Senior Product Manager, Alex Charvalias will support Vlassis at the conference. Ricky will be meeting with current and prospective clients as well as discussing some collaboration opportunities.

Alex will be taking a more holistic view, visiting different exhibitors and events in order to better understand some of the unique challenges and key issues the North American shipping community is facing in 2019. All three will be on-hand to ensure that event attendees visiting MarineTraffic are able to receive both expert technical and sales guidance.

In addition to meeting with current and prospective clients, MarineTraffic Head of Marketing, Nicola Perobelli and Media Strategist, Georgios Hatzimanolis will be meeting with both global and industry media outlets and media representatives to continue discussing the innovative ways that they can utilise data-driven stories powered by MarineTraffic AIS.

Speaking on this, as well as the ambitions of MarineTraffic for the conference more generally, Nicola Perobelli commented:

“This trip is an important first step for MarineTraffic to touch base with the North American shipping community at a prestigious event, while also laying the foundations for stronger working relationships with some of the world’s leading media organisations, all of which is aligned with our goal to grow our presence in the US in 2019 so as to best serve the needs to the many clients we already have there and the potential we see there.”

In addition to business and media activities, MarineTraffic will be sponsoring a breakfast in the main exhibit area from 8am on 4 April. All attendees are invited to attend, with the MarineTraffic team on hand to answer any questions or queries.
