STENA_FORTH MarineTraffic Marine Gallery October 2018

 

The Stena Forth, sailing under the English flag and built in 2009, is a harsh environment drillship. She is capable of drilling in 10,000 metres water depth and has a gross tonnage of 58,294 tonnes. She was spotted just off the gulf of Guinea, where the intersection of the Equator and Prime Meridian is, which results in both the latitude and longitude being zero degrees.

This cruise ship is the Majestic Princess. Built in 2017, she is a Royal-class vessel with three sister vessels; the Regal Princess, the Royal Princess and the Sky Princess which is scheduled to start sailing in October 2019. The Majestic Princess can carry a total of 4,906 people and has, among other luxuries, the largest outdoor screen at sea in her open-air poolside amphitheater “Movies Under the Stars”.

 

HAKKASAN MarineTraffic Marine Gallery October 2018

 

Sailing under the Marshall Islands flag, this oil products tanker is the Hakkasan. Built in 2008, she is 119 metres long and has a deadweight of 11,647 tonnes. She was spotted in Port Louis which is the capital and largest city of the island nation of Mauritius. An interesting fact is that the island was colonised by the French in the 18th century and was then known as “Ile de France”, while Port Louis was named after their King, Louis XV.

The BF Cartagena is a containership built in 1995. She is sailing under the Cyprus flag and was spotted in Rotterdam Europort. This area belongs to the Port of Rotterdam and is adjoined with the Netherlands industrial area. The Port of Rotterdam is one of the busiest ports in Europe and is considered as a major entry to the continent.

 

TARADIS MarineTraffic Marine Gallery October 2018

 

This general cargo vessel is the Taradis. She was built in 2002, has a deadweight of 3,850 tonnes and is sailing under the Iranian flag. She was spotted in Kazakhstan, in Aktau, which is a city on the east bank of the Caspian Sea. The city’s name, Aktau, means “white mountain” in Kazakh and is thought to have been named as such due to its cliffs that overlook the sea.
