DESCRIPTION DE L'ENTREPRISE

W. SMIT, a leading familly company, established in the center of the portarea of Rotterdam, has had more than 60 years of experience in underwateroperations and maritime services. This has made Diving & SalvageCompany W. SMIT a concept in the maritime world in Rotterdam as well as farbeyond that. “Just call SMIT.”

Our clients, large and small, often use this expression. Why? We do not shyaway from any job, large or small. For businesses as well as thegovernment. A 24-hour service - 365 days a year - we are constantly at the ready toundertake for assignments on behalf of shipping, offshore and onshorecontracting, industry, government, and private sector.

W. SMIT is seriously commited to QHSE excellence and performance, it is inour DNA and essential to our business success. W. SMIT and our operations areall managed according  ISO9001 and SCC quality standard. All operationalprocedures for each discipline are compliant with the relevant industrystandards such as IMCA Guidelines for Diving Operations.

We are proud of our fleet. And of our very professional and experiencedcrew. We have the right ship for any job. And it is always in peak condition:we maintain our ships to such an extent that they are in tip-top conditions atall times.

The DSV’s/crane vessels Smit Waalhaven 1, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 24 are outfittedwith all materials so that they can perform any task quickly, efficiently, andexpertly. The same applies to our tender/inspection vessels, our floatingderrick Poseidon and our spud pole pontoons.

These units of our fleet also meet all safety requirements, making itpossible for us to use them for work for the petrochemical industry.

Another indispensable tool in our work are our transportable decompressionunits. These units are required for repairs or work at a depth of 15 metres ormore, the so-called decompression depth.
