COMPANY DESCRIPTION

CR Classification Society was founded as a non-governmental and non-profit technical organization. CR Classification Society (hereinafter referred to as“ this Society”), commonly known as CR, functions as a classification society. The scope of work of this Society is similar to that of the other leading classification societies in the world, such as Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and American Bureau of Shipping. The aim of this Society is to provide our clients with excellent techniques, high efficiency and cordially warm services. We will make every effort to satisfy the needs of our clients in respect of the development of design, construction and maintenance of marine equipment as well as the confirmation of their relevant standards. We also recognize the importance of our duty as a classification society and will do our utmost to improve the safety of life and property at sea and to prevent the pollution of the sea. Moreover, we have established a worldwide network of more than 100 offices in important foreign ports, providing prompt and convenient services for shipowners, shipyards, and manufacturers.

We have had a very close relationship with the local shipping and shipbuilding industries. Having a good knowledge of the ecological trend of relevant industries, we are able to provide technical services in various areas. CR is the classification society authorized by many governments to conduct statutory surveys and certification on their behalf and to make arrangements for various types of inspection work in accordance with the requirements of the International Conventions such as “Load Line”, ”SOLAS”, “MARPOL”…etc. We have made every effort to acquire all new regulations. Furthermore, after digesting, absorbing and translating these regulations, we have come up with recommendations on responding measures, and voluntarily provided the Administrators, and shipping companies with such recommendations. This has enabled CR–registered ships to navigate to all ports throughout the world without a hitch in spite of the multifarious confusion resulting from the amendments made by IMO from time to time. This Society’s contribution surely should not be overlooked.
