MarineTraffic AIS Station Operator Contest 2015

This is a competition intended for the AIS Station Operators contributing to the MarineTraffic Network.
All MarineTraffic users are eligible for participation.
The duration of the contest is from March 1st 2015 to December 20th 2015.

Rules

All station IDs registered on MarineTraffic database automatically participate, excluding aggregate feeds, hidden stations and stations operated directly by MarineTraffic employees.

Ranks will be updated every month.

The ranking of each station will be denoted on the station's page on www.marinetraffic.com with the respective badge.

New stations created during the course of the contest can participate as well.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Petty Officer 3rd Class >85% availability AND coverage area larger than 2000 sq. km. for 2 months
Petty Officer 1st Class * Petty Officer 3rd Class >85% availability AND coverage area larger than 3000 sq. km. for 3 months
Ensign Petty Officer 3rd Class >90% availability AND coverage area larger than 4000 sq. km. for 1 month
Lieutenant Junior Grade Petty Officer 3rd Class >90% availability AND coverage area larger than 5000 sq. km. for 2 months
Lieutenant * Petty Officer 3rd Class >90% availability AND coverage area larger than 6000 sq. km. for 3 months
Commander Petty Officer 3rd Class >90% availability AND coverage area larger than 7000 sq. km. for 6 months
Captain ** Petty Officer 3rd Class >90% availability AND coverage area larger than 8000 sq. km. for 9 months
Rear Admiral Petty Officer 3rd Class >85% availability AND range larger than 150 NM for 3 months
Vice Admiral Petty Officer 3rd Class >85% availability AND range larger than 200 NM for 6 months
Fleet Admiral ** Petty Officer 3rd Class >85% availability AND range larger than 250 NM for 9 months

Prizes

* Prizes are awarded to all who achieve the following ranks: Petty Officer 1st class, Lieutenant. The prizes will be announced during the competition.

** All stations ranked as Captain and Fleet Admiral will enter two separate raffles on the 20th of December 2015, for special prizes. The special prizes will be announced during the competition.

Stations cannot be eligible for the same prize twice.
