Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, a charity registered in England -Charity number 299584.The Sandown & Shanklincrew maintains a 24 hour service, 7 days per week, 365 days a year, all crews are volunteers and no crew member gets paid for their service. We are based on the South East of the Isle of Wight and cover some 72nm of sea. Did you know?- that the SSILB is also a Lifeboat charity and is funded by voluntary donations- that SSILB receive NO financial backing from the RNLI
