Evaluation Process

All applications are manually evaluated by MarineTraffic. Priority will be given to the following cases:

  • the Station will be located in an area that is not already covered by the Marinetraffic Network
  • the proposed location of the Station is of special maritime interest (near a busy port, a high-traffic ship route or canal, a point at high altitude etc)
  • quality and reliability of the AIS data on the subject area will be improved
  • the applicant has some experience in similar technology or, generally, in radio equipment

Upon evaluation of your application, a MarineTraffic Network Support representative will inform you about the outcome.

Local Sourcing

Sometimes, in order to avoid expensive shipments and customs taxes, it is more convenient to buy the equipment from your local market. In case you are able to do so, please let us know about the type of the available devices and their respective prices. We may be able to sponsor the purchase.
