Vessel Positions in a Custom Area

Vessel Positions in a Custom Area service allows you to receive detailed positions of vessels within an area of your interest and is particularly useful when the area to be monitored varies.

You define the bounding box coordinates each time you call the API which makes it the perfect service for ad hoc requests. You have the option to receive simple positional information with a maximum two minute interval, or to enhance this with vessel and voyage information, received on an hourly or daily basis, including:

  • Gross Tonnage, Deadweight, Shiptype
  • origin and destination ports
  • reported and MarineTraffic calculated ETA

Example uses include

Use this service to keep up-to-date with the current location and voyage information of the vessels operating in the area you define with each request; enabling you to monitor the vessel activity around a moving point of interest, anywhere in the world.
